The publication Bandung at 70: Multilateralism in a New Era of Multi-Alignment, conceptualized by the Körber Stiftung and funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, provides valuable impulses for multilateral cooperation in a time of major crises and dysfunctional structures. Among other things, it highlights how historical legacies shape current strategies, particularly of middle powers, and encourages rethinking concepts such as solidarity, sovereignty, and equality in interstate relations. It also examines the value of South-South and triangular cooperation and underlines the indispensability of countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia for Europe and Germany.

Over a three-year pilot phase, eight border regions between Germany and its neighboring countries explored new approaches to cross-border citizen participation. Together, they worked towards the vision of a Europe without borders. This summary highlights the main barriers identified during the project—categorized as language, culture, space, as well as politics, administration, and law—and illustrates constructive ways to address these challenges.
