Developing projects together and promoting them with confidence—that is the idea behind LEVEL up!, a support program run by the Turkish Community in Germany (TGD), the new German organizations (ndo), and the Robert Bosch Foundation. How can cooperation between migrant, Jewish, Muslim, and new German organizations succeed? And what can funding institutions do to support these organizations in their work? These questions were discussed at the LEVEL up! conference with representatives from civil society, academia, politics, and philanthropy. The project REPCHANCE Spain assesses the current state of inclusion in the political sphere of citizens of migrant origin, which includes individuals whose or parents migrated to one of in these two countries, offering a longitudinal perspective of trends over time. Undertaken within the context of the international collaborative project REPCHANCE Europe, it allows understanding the similarities and differences in the social and political dynamics that foster the incorporation of people from a diverse range of backgrounds into elected political office.

The study, funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, reveals the deep patterns of structural and institutional racism in eight EU countries. It shows that discrimination is not the exception, but is deeply embedded in our social, economic and political foundations. Conscious efforts are needed at national and European level to promote justice and equality and to overcome old systems. The authors make policy recommendations on how to empower historically disadvantaged communities and create environments that enable diversity and participation.

The recent study REPCHANCE Europe, funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, highlights the under-representation of migrant MPs in Europe's national parliaments. In Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the UK, these MPs remain significantly less represented than their proportion of the population. Despite slow progress and increased political ambition, systemic and personal barriers remain. As well as highlighting the marginal progress made in different countries, the study offers concrete policy recommendations on how to ensure fair political representation. The study is a call for reform and describes how a diverse political landscape can contribute to strengthening democracy.

In our immigrant society, people are still discriminated against and excluded from equal participation on the basis of their origin, culture or religion. The arts and culture sector is no exception. As part of the "(K)ein Kunststück" project, the Anne Frank Educational Center, funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, provided intensive support and advice to five selected art and cultural institutions over a period of one and a half years. The goal was to promote and sustainably strengthen diversity and anti-discrimination work in the cultural sector. With this brochure, we would like to offer insights, advice, and reflections on the challenges and conditions for success to all those who would like to embark on such a journey or who are already in the midst of it. Without a clear understanding of these relationships, it is not possible to take appropriate policy measures to strengthen cohesion.
